Kate Newman knew she wanted to do something in graphic design since she was in high school. So she attended Ventura College for graphic design and Penn Foster Career School for web design training.
Seven years ago Newman started Exquisite Pixel Designs, a Big Bear web and graphic design firm. She creates logos and websites for a variety of businesses around the country. In Big Bear, Relaxing Big Bear, Community Market, Greg’s Carpet Cleaning and House of Jerky all sport websites designed by Newman.
“I have to be versatile, adapt to their industry,” Newman said. “I’d say within a week I can have a website up and running.”
Newman said she loves to paint in watercolors and will often design a logo in that manner before taking it to a computer. “But I know that’s more girly,” she said.
